Sippy Skills & Tongue Tricks

Ollie has been working on his sippy skills here recently.

He doesn't quite have it figured out, but he sure likes to bang his cup around and make a mess with the water.

Somebody has recently discovered how to stick his tongue out and it is his new favorite thing to do.
That face :)

Eight Months Old

This little guy is eight months old and is handsome as could be.

Ollie is happy and laid back as he's always been.  He has been battling a cold for what seems like forever, but I think he's finally getting rid of it.  Ollie is crawling up a storm.  He is a good little eater.  Puffs and rice rusks are his favorite.  Oliver is growing like a little weed, but still in 3-6 month clothes.

Woodsy Weekend

The Richling crew all headed to Junction City this weekend for the Wahle Woodsy.  That meant some good cousin time for the kiddos.

Ollie loved pulling on Aunt Jaime's chair bows.
Lots of K-State purple and family time :)
Aunt Haley came to babysit the kids so we could all go to the Woodsy.  Oliver wasn't quite sure about being left alone with Aunt Haley ;)
While we were at the Woodsy, I told Haley to take pictures...she sent me all the following pictures with a message saying that the nose picking one was her favorite.  Oh, Tyson :)

Oztoberfest & Twenty-eight

Wamego hosts Oztoberfest at the end of September each year.  I was excited to take Ollie this year.  Riley wasn't too thrilled about taking a photo with the Wizard of Oz characters, but he went along with it because he knows what is good for him ;)
Ollie was a pretty good boy most of the day.  He loves to people watch so he was content the majority of the day.
I wanted Ollie to compete in the costume contest so he was a scarecrow.  This will double as his Halloween costume.  I initially was going to try to make him a costume, but I found this one online when I was looking for patterns to make him one.  It was too cheap not to pass up.  (Although he doesn't look happy, he really was... just tired.)
The costume contest was right around his naptime so he fell asleep right before we went on stage.  Luckily, he did wake up a little before it was our turn, but he was in a daze.
He'll have to practice his stage presence for next year, because he was lacking that this year.  He's usually really smiley and happy, but the poor kid was just tired.
Ollie wasn't a winner in the contest, even though we thought he was pretty cute.  The little boy next to us took the award for best scarecrow.  I'll admit, he was pretty cute too.
Oztoberfest included a car show too so Jim & Marcia brought the Chevelle.
After Oztoberfest, we headed back to Westmoreland for some ice cream cake.  Not just any ice cream cake, but Dairy Queen ice cream cake that was $28 and Riley was sure to tell everyone how expensive it was and that we would never buy one again.  It was for my 28th birthday though and I'm worth it :) One dollar for each year, seems good to me.
Mexican food at La Fiesta was a great end to a fun day.  Whipped cream in the face... not so fun.

Growing Boy

Our little guy is growing non-stop.  The other day he pulled himself up on the side of my treadmill and that has just been the beginning...

I got a little nervous last night when we put Ollie to bed.  He wasn't tired so was playing around in his crib.  I was convinced that he would pull himself up, so Riley was assigned the task of lowering his mattress.  Of course, he lowered it to the lowest setting so he wouldn't have to do it again.

Ollie and I read books and watched him work.

Checking out his new crib height, still not sleepy.

"What do you mean I'm suppose to be sleeping?"

After all the commotion Ollie wasn't into going to bed so we played for a while.  He officially has his crawling down now.  He was crawling up a storm, but then once I started to film he wouldn't show off his skills.  (Please ignore Riley pushing him onto his face, he was only trying to help move him along.  Haha.)

Kaylee's Birthday

Birthday fun was the reason for our trip to Horton this past weekend.  Kaylee celebrated the big seven.

A trip home gave us lots of good family time.  Husdon loves this book and can identify the majority of his alphabet letters.  He's such a little smarty pants.

Cousin love.

Papa put his boys in a pot.

Riley, Oliver, and I went shopping in KC and his parents joined us.  (I didn't get any photos; I guess I was too busy shopping.)  Marcia bought an outfit for Ollie and when we got back to Horton we found out that my mom had bought him same outfit for Christmas.  Too funny.

Kaylee asked for a puppy for her birthday.  Riley and I got her a fish instead.

Haley, Kaylee, and I decorated her colorful cake together.

Kaylee picked out trick candles so she could trick us all :)

Double Date + A Baby

Saturday night was date night for us.  We joined Jacob and Maddy at Olive Garden.  They beat us there and had a high chair set up for Ollie along with a kid's menu.  We thought it was pretty cute that the kid's menu was titled "The Adventures of Ollie & Friends."

As always, it was good to spend time with great friends.

Ollie was well behaved the majority of the time.  Somebody (me) thought that it would be okay for him to play with a small plate.  It was cold and felt good on his gums, but it ended up on the floor.  Oops!  We of course sold out Oliver and placed the blame on him when our waitress came to help clean it up.

The sticker on his forehead was courtesy of his Godfather.
