Spring Break in Florida - Day Two

We started each day with breakfast in our hotel.

There was a nice little park near our hotel.

Day two in Florida was our first real beach day.  Eden loved the sand, but wasn't sure about the water.  By the end of our trip, she loved the water.

Spring Break in Florida - Day One

This Spring Break we switched things up a little from our normal Branson trip and went to Clearwater Beach, Florida with some friends.  It was a group of 19 - 8 adults and 11 kids.  We had a great time together and are hoping to do something together again, maybe next summer.

It was the kids' first flight and they did really well.  A crazy snow storm created a bit of chaos that morning as we almost missed our flights out of Manhattan.  I was standing in security with the three kiddos while Riley had to be taken back to the check-in counter as they gave him a receipt rather than an actual ticket.  An airport employee informed me that we had four minutes to board the plane.  It was a bit rushed to say the least, but we made it.

Here are some of our travel photos:

On our flight from Chicago to Tampa, I was in the very back of the plane with Eden while Riley and the other two kiddos were sitting quite a ways ahead of me.  Between her snoozing and the guy next to me snoozing, I was trapped, but everyone was happy so it all worked out.

This sleepy head missed most of the car ride to the hotel.

Our first time on the beach!

Never-ending Sickness

This was a tough winter on our family in terms of sickness.  At the beginning of February Riley, Eden, and I all had covid.  Shortly after I had strep thoat that I went nearly a whole week with before going to the doctor.  Between parent-teacher conference and our Valentine's Day activities that week, it was a rough, rough week and I was kicking myself for not going to the doctor sooner.

We had a tummy bug that went through Oliver and Paisley which resulted in both diarrhea and throwing up.

Eden picked up some nasty eye junk.

And then passed it to Oliver.

Eden ended up with a double ear infection on top of here eye issues too.

February Snapshots

Making Valentines

Riley, Eden, and I all tested positive for covid.  Paisley is the only one who hasn't gotten it yet.

Oliver's Well Check

It didn't go as well as we had planned.  Due to his lack of weight gain, he's being placed on a high fat diet and will have his weight checked again in April.

We are definitely ready for some warmer temperatures and no more sickness.
