Bedtime is the Best Time

Bedtime is the best time, for kids and parents alike!

We've got a great routine in the evening.  Riley gets Ollie ready for bed and I get Pais ready.  Usually Ollie goes to bed first as Pais isn't quite ready and also needs to nurse.

Every once in a while, Pais joins Ollie in his bed for his bedtime story.  And let me tell you, it melts my heart every time!

Hugs and kisses are a must for our bedtime routine!

Grandpa's Grandbabies

Every few weeks I try to clean up and delete unneeded photos off of my phone.  (Riley gives me a hard time because when I'm taking a photo of the kids, I usually take 10-20 trying to get the perfect photo.)  Often times I don't delete the bad ones right away.  While going through my photos I found these two gems that I had forgotten about from back in February and I just had to share.

Nothing better than a grandpa and his grandkids.

Well Checks

Oliver and Paisley had their well-check appointments yesterday.

Oliver was up first and did well on the scale and measuring his height.  The nurse took his blood pressure (using the smallest cutest little cuff that you ever did see) and he was fine with that too.  However, when they were trying to check his vision, he wasn't having any part of it.  The nurse stood across the room holding some white cards with printed black pictures on them.  She flipped through them asking what they were.  His response to her was, "I don't know."  He did respond to one saying it was a truck, but I'm not sure if it was a truck or not as I was trying to get him to cooperate.  Oh well, the nurse said it wasn't a big deal and we could try again at his 4 year well-check.

Ollie also did well with Dr. Gallagher.  He was talkative and told him all about his birthday party.  Unlike his 2.5 year appointment, Oliver did open his mouth this time.  (Last time he refused to and the doctor even pinched his nose shut trying to get him to open his mouth, but our stubborn little boy wasn't having it.)  He was cooperative as the doctor checked his eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and tummy.

He's continuing on the charts at the low end, but he's been there his whole life and been making gains steadily so the doctor said he's just fine.  So as a three year old he is 35.5 inches tall (9%) and 28 pounds (13%).
Paisley was also more cooperative at this appointment than she was for her last.  At her four month appointment she screamed through the majority of it.  This appointment was much more calm as she only cried during her shots which is to be expected 100%.

Pais is continuing with the same trend as Oliver at the bottom of the chart, but making gains so nothing to be concerned with.  So at 6 months old she is 25 inches long (12%) and weighs 13 pounds 12 ounces (9%).

Heart Breaker

Since I took some fun Valentine's Day photos with Pais, I wanted to do the same with Ollie.  With all the pink and red that surround Valentine's Day it seems too girly for my little guy, so we did something different.

He was obviously thrilled.

(Not sure if it's his hair or what, but he looks so different in this picture.)

Ollie - 3 years / Pais - 6 months

Riley and I took a little time on Sunday to take some photos of the kiddos (me playing photographer and Riley playing my handsome assistant).

Obviously they are nowhere near professional quality photos, but I enjoy playing around with photography especially with such cute subjects.

Milestones

Today was just a lazy Sunday and it was much needed after back-to-back birthday weekends.  We spent the day getting some stuff done around the house, but mainly just regrouping before starting another week.

Paisley was relaxing in her bouncy seat when I looked her and she was sitting up.  That was a first!  She loves to sit up in her bumbo, on people's laps, and with help on the floor.  She still needs lots of support when sitting up so we were very surprised that she worked her little abs enough to get sat up.

 Such a big girl!

Ollie also hit a milestone today.  He now shaves! Haha!
