Happenings in October

October has been a busy month with getting into our new routine of work, school, daycare, and home.

This little one has been so flexible and easy going.  She sleeps well at night, waking either just once or not at all!

She is quite smiley, too.  We just can't ever get a good picture of her while she is doing it.

At the beginning of the month we had the Wahle Woodsy.  Ollie helped me make puppy chow that we take almost every year.  It's easy and gluten free so Aunt Jaime can eat it!

He was the official taste-tester and he approved.

I had a terrible migraine that weekend, so for the first time in what seems like forever, I missed going to the Woodsy.  Riley took both kids to Junction and his parents watched them while he went to the Woodsy.  This was my first night away from Paisley, but she did great and I enjoyed catching up on sleep.

Riley dresses Oliver each weekday morning and I dress Paisley.  On this particular day, it was pretty cold and without planning it they both ended up in Gap clothing.

Little Eskimo Baby!

Oliver continues to be a great big brother to Paisley.  He's always loving on her and wanting to hold her.  His love might change when she is big enough to mess with his toys, but for now we are enjoying this stage.

Oliver found the pair of glasses he wore back when he was 7 months old.  He's still just as cute wearing them!

Aunt Kerby came to meet Paisley this month, too!  While Oliver and Riley were in Horton at the car show, Kerby, Paisley, and I went shopping in Salina.

We had to take several breaks for her to eat, but our 30 year old bodies appreciated the breaks too, haha :)

Oliver got sick this month.  He hasn't been sick since the day before his first birthday so we were probably overdue for something... and he sure got something.  Another little kiddo at daycare tested positive for parainfluenza A which is a respiratory virus.  The other kiddo ended up being flown to Children's Mercy and put on a ventilator.  (All is well with him now, thank goodness.)  We are pretty sure that Oliver also had parainfluenza A as well.  I spoke with a nurse and she told me that based on all of his symptoms and his exposure that is most likely what it is, but there was not really a need to have him tested.  It's viral and just has to run it's course.

Anyway, he felt and sounded pretty awful for a couple days.  Riley stayed at home with him one day and slept with him for a couple nights to keep a close eye on him.

He's completely back to normal now, but here he is on the tail end of things, taking a bath in mommy's big tub to feel a little bit better.

Haley had yet to see our house since we moved in May so she came to see the house and hang out with the kids so we could get away for a date night.
(October 25 marks 12 (yes, a DOZEN!) years that Riley and I have been together.)

Riley and I went to dinner and a movie while Haley held the fort down at home.  Here are some of her photos from their evening together:
