Social Distancing - Week 3 (New Routines & Homeschooling)

Week 3 of social distancing is in the books and so is our first week of homeschooling.  The past couple of weeks we didn't make it out of our jammies very much and probably watched more tv than we needed to.  Routines and schedules will definitely be changing again here in a couple weeks with a new baby joining the family, but I still felt the need to get some sort of routine established.

I created a magnetic chart for the fridge.  Sometimes the weather prohibited us from getting our outside time, but other than that we did really well at sticking to it.  Our goal is to complete all the activities during a typical school day (so by 3 or 4:00).  So far it has worked really well; it gives us freedom to slightly change the order if needed and doesn't give time constraints on each activity, but gives the kids a clear picture of what needs to be done each day.  We've gotten dressed every day, gotten beds made, kept up on household chores, completed school work, etc.

Oliver's reading teacher, Mrs. Van Sickle came over and brought Ollie stuff to work on from reading class.  He now has sight words, books and activities to complete every Tuesday and Thursday.
