Halloween 2018

Like we did last year, we went downtown for the Trunk or Treat.  It is easy, it is light outside, and it makes for a shorter evening after a long and eventful day.

Halloween at Preschool

Oliver had his first party at school and since I'm his teacher I was able to be a part of it all.  (I'm going to enjoy it while I can since when he is out of preschool, I'll probably miss out on these types of things!)

We started the morning with a costume parade through the grade school, followed by trick or treating at the downtown businesses.

We wrapped up the afternoon with a feast of yummy treats for our party.

Ollie's First Field Trip - Nelson Family Pumpkin Farm

Oliver had his very first field trip today.  One of my perks of being his preschool teacher is that I got to experience it with him.

We rode the bus (which he was most excited about) to Nelson Family Pumpkin Farm.

The corn maze was up first.  It went along with the story of Spookley the Square Pumpkin which was so stinking cute.

Kindergarten students went on the field trip too, so he met up with his friend Ryker who he calls "Funny Guy."

I helped with the zipline for a bit and Ollie decided to be brave and give it a try.

He needs to work on his brave face just a bit.

After zip-lining each kiddo brought the rope back for the next one in line.  Ollie wasn't quite tall enough to reach the rope and needed a bit of assistance.  I'm guessing this will be a common issue that he'll run into as he is the shortest one in his whole class.

Thumbs up for a successful first field trip!

Long Weekend & Some Birthdays

I had Friday off which made for a perfect day to hang out in our jammies.  I did get the house cleaned up, laundry done, some Christmas presents wrapped, and packed for the weekend... but even with all that I did, we fit in some snuggle time.

Paisley loves Ollie's recliner and he does well with sharing it with her.

When Riley got off work, we headed for Horton to celebrate Shelby's 40th birthday.

We doubled up on birthdays this past weekend, with Hudson's 5th birthday at Haley & Dalton's in Topeka.

Night of Lights

As we do each year, we attended the Night of Lights in Horton the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Pais did about as well as we expected with Santa.

Ollie was most excited about his hot dog!

Cousins!

We weren't big winners as we had been in the past.  Hudson won a pop-up tunnel tent thing and Paisley won a little purse with some not-so age appropriate make-up stuff in it that we gave Kaylee.

Growing Girl (sort of)

Little Miss P is over 14 months old so I decided that it was time to size her up in clothing.  3-6 month stuff was getting a bit snug (mainly in tops) so she is officially in 6-9 months.

I don't want her to grow up, but a little growing would be good.
