Haley is Engaged!

My little sister, Haley, got engaged this past weekend!  We all knew that it was coming; we just weren't sure when.

We are all very excited for her and have already begun the wedding planning.  It looks to be that there will be a wedding this coming spring.  Can't wait!

Congrats to Haley & Dalton :)

Another Preschool Year

Things are underway at the preschool for me to begin my third year teaching preschool and my seventh year teaching overall.

I spent the summer finishing up my practicum for my Master's degree and teaching summer camp.  It is hard to believe, but I just finished up my fifth year teaching during summer camp.

Once I completed my last Master's class, I focused on getting some projects done at preschool during naptime.  My favorite were these rainbow dyed chickpeas.

They turned out so cool and I'm excited to the kiddos play with them.

My new group of preschoolers will start tomorrow, so Ollie and I have spent some time in the classroom getting things ready.

He was sure to test out toys and be sure that they passed his careful inspection.

Pool Party

The Buessing Family Reunion (my mom's side of the family) took place last weekend along with a get-together on Riley's side of the family (Great Grandma Jenny's Birthday, I believe).  I didn't get any photos at either of them somehow, oops.  However, we had a little pre pool party at my parents' house on Saturday, which was the day before the other two events.  I'm glad we were able to get some pool time in because Sunday was rainy, cool, and cloudy.  It was suppose to be a pool party, but that didn't really happen.

Anyway.... here are some snapshots from our pre pool party:

KC Trip

Riley and I took a little weekend-get-away this past weekend.  It was sort of to celebrate me being done with my Master's Degree.  Ollie hung out with Riley's parents and we headed to KC on Saturday morning and returned on Sunday evening.

It was nice to get away and just be together.  We did LOTS of shopping, eating, and driving around KC.  We were able to see a movie which hasn't happened in forever, so that was a treat.  We saw Bad Moms and it was hilarious.

Riley had never eaten at The Cheesecake Factory so that was on our to-do list for the trip.  We had fried mac and cheese which was amazing!  Of course, we also had to have cheesecake.  I had a smores galore something or other and Riley had Snickers.  So delish!

In addition to all of our shopping, we also went to Boulevard Brewery.  We took the tour which was cool and Riley sampled beer.

I, in fact, was not here for the beer, but rather had to let Riley take a photo of me so that he would also pose for a photo.

I think the highlight of the trip for Riley was sleeping in the king size bed in the hotel, which he continues to talk about nonstop.  We had a nice weekend with just the two of us, but of course, we were happy to see Ollie again and be home.

It's Broke

I was loading this handsome little guy into my car the other day after daycare and the batteries of his fan were dead.

I was sure that that darling little face was soon to fade and that he would be throwing a fit because his fan wasn't working.... boy was I wrong...
