Oliver's First Day of Kindergarten

To say that Ollie has been excited for kindergarten would be an understatement.  He missed being in school due to the stay at home order with Covid and was happy to get back to the preschool for summer camp.  All summer, though, he has been asking about how much longer until he gets to go into the big school for kindergarten.

We had to read this book the night before the big day.

Captain Crunch is apparently the perfect breakfast to get you ready for such a big day.

This year looks a little different than most.  Never did I think I would be sending my child to school wearing a mask all day, but here we are.

My preschoolers don't have to wear a mask (unless we are in the main building or during extended care), but I have to wear one.  It sure does bring some challenges to teaching.

Summer Snapshots

This is why we call Eden a little pooper girl.  Sometimes we go through multiple outfits a day.  Sometimes only minutes apart.

Paisley's Third Birthday - Dinner at Texas Roadhouse

With daycare closed this week, Papa was in town babysitting and was able to join us for Paisley's birthday dinner.  The girls both had well-check appointments on Wednesday so we went to their appointments first. Paisley did great and was glad to not need any shots.  Eden wasn't as lucky.

We always let the birthday boy or girl choose where we eat for their special day.  Oliver has been in the habit of choosing "the peanut place" and Paisley did just the same.

Drinking ranch dressing - yuck!

Four Months Old

Another month has come and gone and our little Eden is now four months old.

She survived her first family vacation this past month and is now adjusting to sleeping without being swaddled.  She loves being swaddled so it's been quite the adjustment.  Not being swaddled has interrupted her sleep a bit as she is back to waking up in the night occasionally.  She is getting better little by little, so hopefully she'll be back to sleeping through the night soon.

She continues to be a happy, smily baby.  I can usually get her to smile just by talking to her which, of course makes this mama's heart happy.

Her little thighs are really chunking up and I love her little rolls.  She is also starting to roll too.  She has rolled from tummy to back a couple times and also back to tummy a few times too.  She can be a good little snuggler, but she also love to just stretch out on the floor.

Paisley's Third Birthday

Paisley has been looking forward to her ice cream birthday party for months now.  I think she invited her grandparents to her ice cream party about 423 times before the month of August even arrived.

The birthday girl requested pizza and salad.  You don't get much easier than that!  I'll take it.

Paisley had fallen outside in the driveway earlier this week and scraped up her nose.  She told people it looked like sausage.  Oh, Pais!

Oliver rounded up a bunch of random toys of his and put them in this brown bin.  He proudly gave it to Paisley as her birthday present.

She requested a fishing pole and a tackle box to put her fish in.  Grandma and Grandpa delivered.

I just love her.

I love party planning and this party was a super fun one - the ice cream bar was such a hit.

Riley made fun of my pre-scooped ice cream (and to be honest, it was a huge mess to get it soft enough to scoop and then back in the freezer without melting everywhere), but it really did help during the actual party.
