Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Horton relaxing and enjoying some family time.  The pool was too cold for us, but Ollie loved playing in the water from the pool.

10 Year Class Reunion

On Saturday, I had my ten year class reunion.  We all met up at Krista's parents' house for some yummy food, conversation, and yard games.  It was nice to catch up with everyone.

Marcia's Birthday

We celebrated Marcia's birthday at Grammy's house on Sunday.

Such a good picture of these two :)

Ollie was happy to lend his present opening services.

Carter is Two

Carter is now two so we traveled to Halstead to celebrate his big day.

Ollie enjoyed the party and was content playing while the birthday boy tore into his presents.

Carter had a Paw Patrol birthday party and his cake was awesome (awesomely sweet and tasty too).

The birthday boy was quite proud of himself to be sitting on top of the table.

These party animals must have had too much fun....Zzzzzzzz....

Watermelon Baby

This little guy has a new favorite food and it is watermelon.

He tried it for the first time at daycare and Teresa said that he couldn't get enough.  I bought a watermelon and he has been eating it like crazy.  As soon as he sees it, he gets excited and won't eat any other food on his plate.

We've been working on using a fork lately too.  He is getting pretty good, but sometimes just pulls the food off the fork and puts it in his mouth.

ESU Graduation

On Saturday, I graduated with my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education.  I started working on it two summers ago in 2014.  I've been taking two online courses each semester and am finally done, well almost.

I have to complete my home-based practicum this summer and do all the homework along with it, but once that is done,  I will be done.  I'm very excited to be finished as it takes up a lot of my free time on the weekend.  Riley often has to play single dad while I have homework binge sessions, so I think he is just as excited as I am.

Graduation was packed and several people didn't even have seats.  Oliver thought this worked out pretty well as there were many people to take him out to the lobby to run around.  I think we set a record with how fast graduation went, I believe it was right around an hour which was really nice.

I didn't do a very good job at getting photos with everyone that came to my graduation.  I didn't even get a photo with my mommy and daddy.  I really appreciated everyone that could be there and wish I had some photos to document it.

The real celebration will begin when I finish this last course and can officially earn my degree.  I see margaritas in my future :)

Daddy's Boy

Oliver is definitely a daddy's boy and he loves to be outside with him.  Together they have been working on several outdoor projects.

We recently found a used cabinet on a Facebook yard sale page.  Riley and Ollie have been working on refinishing it together.

We recently got rid of our pool.  It was nice and we enjoyed the idea of it, but it was a lot of work and neither of us really have the time to mess with it.  Riley tore down the pool and is turning the area into a sand box for Ollie.
I think this blue eyed boy is going to love having a sandbox :)

Mother's Day 2016

This Mother's Day weekend we went to Horton.  The guys went to the Lawrence swap meet so Jaime, Marcia, Oliver, and I went to KC to do some shopping.  We started off at Ikea.  Jaime, Marcia, and Oliver had never been.  We had a great time and Ollie was very well behaved especially since we were there for three hours.

Oliver loved this huge plush dog.  He kept snuggling up to it.
He really doesn't have any soft stuffed animals as his stuffed animal collection mainly consists of sock monkeys (thanks to Aunt Jaime) :)

We should have bought it for him!  He loved it.

After Ikea, we headed to the Legends for lunch followed by some shopping.  The guys met with us after lunch, took Ollie to Cabela's, and then headed home.  It was a great day with lots of good shopping.

We headed to my parents' for church on Sunday followed by Mother's Day lunch.

Haley got mom yellow pants so she could be just like Frankie on The Middle :)

I got photos with my mommy, but I didn't get a photo with my little fellow that made me a mommy.  Mommy fail. Oops.
