Oliver's Second Broken Arm

I feel like I'm writing the same post that I did 7 months ago, but here we are.  Oliver was playing outside at summer camp and was running fast.  Another kid's ball rolled in front of him, he tripped on it, and flipped over the top of it.  As soon as I saw his arm, I knew that it was broken.  I immediately called Riley, knowing that he would probably be able to take him to get it looked at faster than I could get a sub to cover for me.  Riley's reaction was something to the tune of "Are you @#$%ing kidding me?'  So after a visit to the Clay Center ER followed by an appointment at Orthopedics, it was determined that he broke his arm (again!) and would require surgery (again!).  Now remember, he literally just had the pin removed from his last surgery at the end of last month.

Oliver was supposed to go to football camp about 15 minutes after it happened.  He didn't make it to football camp.

This part did not turn out how we expected.  He ended up testing positive for Covid-19.  Never had any symptoms.  We had to close summer camp for a week.  Oliver had to quarantine for ten days and the girls had to quarantine for twenty days.  What a mess!

Surgery day at the hospital.  We had to go to the hospital rather than the surgical center due to his positive test.  It wasn't the best experience, but they got him fixed up so that's what is important.

Some friends dropped off some special treats.  It was a perfect surprise to brighten his day.
