A Week a Maamaw & Papa's

Oliver's daycare was closed last week and I still had to finish up the school year and start summer camp...so he spent the week at my parents' house.  It actually worked out nicely because Jim and Marica just took him home after Carter's birthday party.  They were keeping Tyson for the week so they had a carload going home.  They kept him for a bit and then passed him off to my parents.

Maamaw & Papa sent pictures daily of his adventures at their house...from the looks of it, he did a lot of eating :)

This favorite, always requested, "chicken and fries."
(He looks SO grown up in this picture.)

They went to the summer library program to listen to stories and do an art project.  (I wish I could take him to more things like this, but they usually take place in the mornings and I'm working at summer camp.)

The timing of his little trip away was really good.  I've been having major lower back pain from being pregnant with little miss and haven't been able to do much of anything other than work.  Riley and I had high hopes for all that we would get done around the house since Oliver was gone, but we didn't get much of anything accomplished.

Carter's 3rd Birthday

We ventured to Halstead to celebrate Carter's 3rd birthday on Saturday.  He was a happy, energetic, little birthday boy.  (I didn't take many pictures as I wasn't feeling the best... baby girl is super low and sitting on some nerves causing terrible lower back pain...ugh!)

Happy 3rd Birthday!

Never-Ending Menards Trip

We are still working on getting settled into our new home.  We have much fewer boxes and most things have a place, but we've got lots of projects to get done which means a trip to Menards on a Friday night.

We've been waiting for the 11% off everything sale because we had a list a mile long.

2 carts, almost 3 hours, and nearly $900 later we made it out of Menards!

We were at Menards so long that I sent Riley along and stopped to change Ollie into his pjs since it was way past this bedtime.

For such a long and boring shopping trip, our little guy hung in there and was pretty cooperative throughout...
...now if I can just get Riley to cooperate and install all of the stuff we bought in a timely manner...

Garth Concert

One concert that I've been wanting to go to for as long as I can remember is Garth Brooks.  Riley and I don't make it to many concerts, but we were both really excited to get away and see this show.  I got tickets for last Saturday night.  We made a day out of it, called it an early anniversary date, and did some shopping in KC beforehand.  Although we missed Ollie, it was nice to get away without him and we knew he was having a ball with Uncle Shelby and Aunt Jaime.

Garth did not disappoint.  It was the best concert we've ever been to and we had an awesome time!!

Chicken & Fries

Whenever we ask Oliver what he wants to eat (whether it be breakfast, lunch, supper, or snack) he replies with the same thing every time "Chicken.  Fries."  Whenever we ask Oliver what he ate at Teresa's he will say, "Chicken. Fries."  I'm not quite sure where this chicken and fries obsession came from because he has always been and continues to be a good fruit and veggie eater...but apparently his favs are chicken and fries.

Baby Echo

Just as we did with Oliver, we had an appointment at Maternal Fetal Medicine at Stormont-Vail in Topeka to check out our little one's heart.  Since I was born with a heart defect, there is a possibility that I could pass it on to my children.  Luckily nothing alarming or abnormal showed up on the echo and we can proceed as normal with preparing for a healthy baby girl.

It was a looong appointment (Riley even fell alseep!), but we were glad to have it out of the day and also glad to get some great pictures of our little girl.

Moving Day

We said good-bye to our first home last week.  As anxious as we were to get into our new home, it was bittersweet.  When we purchased our first home together, only a couple months after our wedding, we had planned on being here quite a while.  Plans changed and this move really is for the best, but it's still hard to leave the house we made a home, the house we brought Oliver home to, and the only house Oliver has ever known.

Riley, Shelby, and our dads loaded up the majority of our stuff on Wednesday so we camped out as a family on the living room floor for our last night.

Thursday was the big move and we had the morning to get the rest of things loaded up.  Being pregnant and having an umbilical hernia prevented me from being all that helpful with the loading and moving of stuff...so Ollie and I went to Wamego to get breakfast for our crew.

This little turkey ate a dozen donut holes all by himself!!

Although I wasn't much help, Ollie sure was ;)

Saying goodbye to his room :(

Bye-bye!

We had lots of good help for the move and didn't have any major issues.  We spent the rest of the week and weekend cleaning, unpacking, painting, and organizing at the new house.  There is still quite a bit of stuff still to do, but I have a feeling we will be using the whole summer to get settled.

Haley & Dalton's Wedding

It's hard to believe...but my little sister is all grown up and married.  She got married outdoors last Saturday.

The morning of was easy and relaxing although it was hard not to notice the torrential downpour of rain outside.

Despite the rain, we managed to get photos taken with the help of some large umbrellas.

Always a daddy's boy...

...and see the face I get, haha!

Although a bit chilly, the wedding went smoothly.  The rain subsided and we luckily had a dry ceremony.

Afterwards we all headed to the reception for some tacos and dancing.

(I'm not sure what Ollie's face is all about in this picture...but it cracks me up!)

Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Atzenweiler!
