Potty Party

In the last week or two Ollie has expressed some interest in the potty.  He will say "poop" often before he poops.  He also has a very serious poop face that clearly notifies us about what is soon to occur.

So we have started to sit him on the potty chair.

He likes it and is usually all smiles.

Last night Ollie actually pooped on the potty for the first time.  WooWhoo!

  Daddy gets the credit since I was in the shower when it happened.

Perhaps we will give this whole potty training thing a good run when we are home on Christmas break.  Maybe.  We will see.

Election Day 2016

This cutie and I voted today after school.

I know in the blink of an eye, this little guy will be voting too.  He is growing way too fast for this momma's liking.  

Fall Photos

I finally had a chance to edit our family photos from a couple of weekends ago.  I'd say we got some pretty good ones :)

We went out and took some fall pictures of Ollie just this week.  He was happy and cooperative so it made for a quick little shoot.

Chocolate Milk

Every once in a while, I'll eat school lunch, relive my childhood, and remember why I prefer to take my lunch from home.

Anyway, I've never been a milk drinker, but on the rare occasion when I eat school lunch I bring my milk home for Riley.  No point in wasting it, right.

Well this time, Riley shared it with Ollie.  It was his first taste of chocolate milk and I'd say that he was a big fan.

Halloween 2016

Yesterday was Halloween and we took Ollie trick-or-treating for the first real time.  (He has been trunk or treating a couple of times this year, but this was the first time we actually went door to door trick-or-treating.

We just did a small portion of our neighborhood -- our street and the next one over.

He liked trick or treating, but he got tired pretty quickly.  So we decided to call it quits after two streets and sit on the porch at home to pass out candy.

Ollie was content playing on the porch and drinking one of his treats.

He managed to sneak a dum-dum out of the candy bowl.  He was a sticky mess, but it was Halloween, so why not.

Weekend in Horton

We were in Horton again this past weekend with lots going on.

I didn't have school on Friday, so Ollie and I headed for Horton that morning. 

Ollie and I enjoyed a picnic lunch with Grandma Marcia when we got to town.  (We must have been having too much fun, because I forgot to take photos.)

We then surprised Nana at school with a short visit. 

Nana had the brilliant idea to give Ollie dry erase markers...

...so naturally he ended up with more on his face than on the board.

Next we headed for Hiawatha.  I got my haircut with Amy and then we went to the trunk or treating that the businesses had downtown.  It was fun and Ollie did really well with it.  (I forgot to take photos again...oops! Are you sensing a theme this weekend?)

Once Riley got off work, he headed to Horton and we spent the rest of the weekend with his family.  We were all together and able to celebrate Shelby's birthday.

He had lots of help from nephews with the blowing out of his birthday candle.

The boys helped Grandma make pancakes.  What good little helpers.

Neither of them are looking...but it is still cute.

Trunk or Treat

While we were home for Hudson's birthday, we took advantage of the trunk or treating that was happening in Everest.

This was Ollie's first trick or treating experience.  I will say that it was perfect for a kid his age.  There were probably a dozen vehicles and he easily walked to each of them.  He was content and happy.

We were joined by Riley's parents, my parents, and Haley.  It was a quick, fun experience that allowed everyone to see him in his costume doing his thing.

He's definitely the cutest dragon I've ever seen.
