It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Good News:  Ollie and I got to spend the day together at home due to a snow day because of ice.

Bad News:  We started the day without electricity.

More Good News:  We spent the morning putting the Christmas tree together.  (We started in the dark, but the power came on shortly after we began.)

Even More Good News:  Ollie doesn't mess with the Christmas tree.  He will touch a low branch every now and then, but other than that he has left it alone.  Yay!

Ollie followed Riley around the tree as he strung the lights.
 He really wanted to help.

 Cute little stink.

Santa Visit

Ollie had his first visit with Santa.  Horton had its annual Night of Lights so we took Ollie to see the big guy in the red suit.
He wasn't sure what to think.  He didn't cry or smile.  He just sat there looking at us waiting for it to be over.  It could have been worse, so I'm calling it a win.

Prizes were given for all age groups.  Kaylee was a big winner and got just what she wanted -- an Elsa doll.  Don't mind my mom's face... she was crying tears of joy for Kaylee.  Yes, that is right, crying over Kaylee winning a doll.  She has also cried while watching The Price is Right, so her crying is just par for the course.

Ollie was also a big winner too.  His name was drawn for a musical lion walker toy.

Riley got his first of many toy assembly jobs.  There were no extra pieces, so I'd say it was successful.

Ollie loves it and is pretty good at walking behind it.
He doesn't walk behind it for too long as he is more interested in playing with all the toys on the front.

Oliver's First Thanksgiving

I didn't do a very good job of taking photos on Thanksgiving.  I guess I was too busy being thankful... or perhaps I was too busy eating.  Either way, my photos are pretty limited.  Oh well, here's what I took...

Fall Family Photos

Haley (and her assistant Dalton) came to our house for dinner and a photo shoot last Sunday.

Ollie was pretty cooperative and there were no tears, but we did struggle to get him to smile.  He was serious for most of the time, but we did get some good shots :)

Ollie's First Halloween

Ollie spent his first Halloween in Horton with his grandparents since Riley and I were in Branson.  Neither of us are really into Halloween so we weren't heartbroken to miss out.  Plus, Ollie was too little to do much trick-or-treating anyway.  I actually think that Riley planned our vacation during Halloween so he wouldn't have to deal with trick-or-treaters coming to our door.  Our first year in Westmoreland, they came by the trailer load and Riley ran out of candy.  I was out of town for some reason and I'm pretty sure that Riley was scarred for life over the whole situation.

Earlier this week, we got Ollie back in his costume and took some pictures of him as a scarecrow.  I'm pretty positive that he is the cutest scarecrow that I've ever seen.

Nine Months Old

This little man has grown quite a bit in nine short months.

Ollie had his nine month well-check on Monday.  He almost got a shot-free appointment, but since flu season is near he ended up getting his flu shot.  It must not have been too bad because he didn't even react to the shot.  No tears or anything.

Oliver is 27.25" which puts him in the 11th percentile.  He weighs 19 pounds, 4 ounces which is the 43rd percentile.  He isn't lacking in brains though as he is in the 76th percentile with a head circumference of 46 cm.  He's starting to fit into 6-9 month clothing.
